Executive Director
Denise joined the UWHC team as Executive Director in April 2015. Prior to her arrival, Denise was the executive director of International House, a nonprofit organization in Charlotte serving immigrants and refugees. She previously served as executive director of NCLEAF, a statewide loan repayment program for public interest attorneys, and Safe Space, a domestic violence agency in Louisburg, NC. Denise holds a JD degree from the UNC School of Law and an MDiv from Southeastern Theological Seminary. Denise recently completed a term on the board of United Way of North Carolina. She and her husband Bruce Holliday love hiking and exploring nearby trails with their two rescue pups and being part of a caring community here in Henderson County.
