2021 Day of Action Finishes Strong with 2,000 Thank You Notes Delivered to HCPS

Our 2021 Day of Action project to provide a handwritten thank you note to every Henderson County Public Schools (HCPS) employee – as well as Early Childhood Educators at childcare centers throughout Henderson County - came to fruition on December 14th as cards were delivered to 29 school and district sites by United Way staff.

A total of 46 groups and individual volunteers personalized, stuffed, and labeled the 2,000 thank you notes. Many volunteers reached out to their family, neighborhood or workplace colleagues to help complete their cards, making this a community-wide effort to say thank you to each of our local school personnel including teachers, bus drivers and cafeteria staff.

We are grateful to each of our volunteers who took time to write personal notes of appreciation, apply labels and seal envelopes. And we express our utmost appreciation for all the school staff who continue to serve our children in the most challenging of circumstances.
