United Way is proud to announce the 2021 Days of Caring initiative is on track to raise over $52,000 that will be distributed evenly to 13 local food pantries in May. In addition, hundreds of pounds of food and dozens of kids snack packs have been collected and delivered by local individuals and organizations who came together to meet the needs of the community - with more on the way.
We know that one in five adults and one in four children are experiencing food insecurity in Henderson County, as a result of economic challenges created by the COVID-19 health crisis. We recognized our community food pantries needed our help as they are experiencing unprecedented need.
A list of food pantries who participated in Days of Caring can be found here.
