Helene Recovery Resources
United Way of Henderson County serves as the fiscal sponsor for the Disaster Recovery Partnership (DRP) of Henderson County. The DRP connects more than 100 agencies working collaboratively to address the Helene recovery needs that our community continues to face. Residents who are still have unmet needs as a result of Helene are welcome to complete a Disaster Recovery Assistance request form and a case manager will help you connect with Helene related resources. Visit the website hcdrp.org and click the "Get Help" link. Currently there is a waitlist for residents to be paired with a Disaster Case Manager.
North Carolina Disaster Case Management Program - NC-DCM assists individuals with unmet needs due to Tropical Storm Helene and who either live in one of the 39 disaster-impacted counties or are members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Catholic Charities - https://ccdoc.org/ Catholic Charities helps people in need in western North Carolina. You don't have to be Catholic to be served by Catholic Charities. They offer bilingual clinical mental health counseling in English and Spanish virtually on a sliding fee scale, food and essential non-food items like diapers, toiletries, hygiene products, and pet food, disaster case management, immigration legal services, refugee services, and case management. Interfaith Assistance Ministries (IAM) - Location: 310 Freeman Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792, https://www.iam-hc.org/; Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9:00am-4:00pm and Wednesday, Friday 9:00am-12:30pm; Purpose: IAM offers food pantry services including hygiene supplies and clothing for all ages. Baptists on Mission (Disaster specific assistance) – Baptists on Mission is providing essential rapid home repairs and rebuilds to get homeowners with Hurricane Helene related damage back into their homes as soon as possible. Samaritan’s Purse (Disaster specific assistance) – Samaritan’s Purse is offering construction materials financial assistance, driveway, culverts, and bridge repair grants, furniture replacement, and mobile home and RV replacements, and home rebuilds and repairs for Hurricane Helene affected homeowners. Purpose: Tree Removal, Temporary Roof Repair (e.g. tarping), Roof Repair, RV / temporary winterization. Also has propane and Kerosene heaters. Disaster Ministry focused on long-term and temporary repairs to homes to make you safe, sanitary and secure after Hurricane Helene.
