Funded Community Partners

Helping Hand Daycare

United Way of Henderson County uses a community impact model to make a difference in our community.  This means that we mobilize people and resources to change conditions in our community and improve lives.  UWHC Board, Staff and Strategic Planning Committee identified health, education and financial stability as target impact areas and refined the themes into six target issues: Kindergarten Readiness, School Success, Financial Stability, Affordable Housing, Reducing Obesity, and Encouraging Healthy Youth Behaviors.

Since 2015, allocations to nonprofit partners from our Community Investment Fund have been aligned with these six objectives in addition to supporting basic needs and crisis services.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we shifted our focus for the two-year funding cycle staring in July 2020 to supporting our partners with operational and programmatic needs.
