Girls EMpowered (GEM) Coordinator
Jenny Moreno comes to United Way as the Girls Empowered (GEM) Coordinator. She spent over 30 years in public education, as a high school English teacher and a school principal at both Hendersonville Middle School and Hillandale Elementary School. Jenny received her BA in Literature at UNC-Asheville, and a Master’s Degree in English Education and a Master’s Degree of School Administration from Western Carolina University. A grateful native of Western North Carolina, Jenny lives with her husband Mickey in Flat Rock. They have two children and five grandchildren. Jenny and Mickey enjoy animals, gardening, and teaching exercise and wellness at their home studio.
