United Way of Henderson County is launching our inaugural Power of the Purse event on May 21, 2026. The evening promises to be the ultimate ladies’ night out featuring fabulous fun and our silent auction of exquisite handbags – many with additional items, experiences, and packages inside! The proceeds from this fundraiser will support mental health programs for women and children in Henderson County.

A celebration of the power women bring to our community

Women United connects and engages women who want to make a significant impact in our community with a focus on supporting the education and self-sufficiency of women and children in Henderson County. Learn more about and get involved with Women United here. 

Power of the Purse, or POP, is a Women United project with a focus this year on providing funding to agencies that support the mental health of women and children. This support is critical for building healthy families and strong communities. Women often bear significant caregiving responsibilities and face unique stressors, making their mental well-being foundational to themselves and their loved ones. Additionally, early intervention in children is vital, as supporting behavioral health early can have drastic positive impacts.
